Everyone's abuzz about the kinky, sex-appeal of Fifty Shades Darker and we're over here thinking about what really turns us on... makeup!
50 shades? That's nothing.. we've got more lipstick tricks than Christian has whips.
Darker? Why yes, we'd love to. Thanks for asking... and so, today, we're dishing about the deepest, darkest most flattering lipstick hues. How to wear 'em, where to get 'em and which ones have the most sex appeal.
"Liquorice" lipstick from Bite Beauty
Get it for $26 at Sephora here.
Bite Beauty's high-impact lipsticks deliver extreme moisture, soft texture, and creamy wear due to a small batch, low-heat process that preserves a balanced blend of lip-quenching nutrients, vitamins, and omega oils.
These lippies are sexy enough to eat thanks to being crafted of 12 edible oils minus parabens, sulfates and phthalates.
“Sin” from MAC Cosmetics
Get it for $17 here.
MAC Sin is a cool burgundy with a matte finish. This lipstick is highly pigmented with an intense color payoff so apply with care and wear with caution. After all, MAC knows a thing or two about sex appeal.
“Black Cherry” from Revlon
Get it for $4.99 at Target here.
Revlon’s Black Cherry has been touted as the one shade of purple that flatters every woman, no matter her skin tone. So much so, in fact, that a group of six friends posted their black cherry puckers on Reddit a while back, all looking gorgeous, of course!
We love Revlon's lipsticks in general as any recent trip to the drugstore for toothpaste will prove.
A tip: The price on Revlon can vary greatly by retailer -- we found this same lipstick for $8+ at a major beauty retailer, but also found it for less than $5 (at time of posting this story) at Target --so shop wisely.
"Hot Kiss" from Estee Lauder's PureColor Collection
Get it for $28 here.
Estee's long lasting lipsticks is hydrating and long lasting... and that's a match made in heaven. The lipstick is enriched with lip-loving ingredients that leave lips soft and creamy smooth. "Hot Kiss" is a deep purple brown that leaves lips looking hot and kissable.
"Jam" Glossier Generation G Matte Lipstick
Get it for $18 here.
This final hue is a nod to Anastasia herself, aka Dakota Johnson, who wears this deep berry lipstick atop MAC lipliner in Burgundy ($17.50 here) according to Fifty Shades Darker makeup artist, Evelyne Noraz. (Noraz named the products she used for the movie on her Instagram account.)
Generation G is unique in that it swipes on with the look of just-blotted lipstick, without the blot.
Bear in mind; these lipsticks adapt to you, so they'll appear slightly different on everyone which might be a perfect time to remind you that no matter how sexy you think Christian is, in real life, your Prince Charming may appear... slightly different. And that's okay.
