By Pretty City Editors
This week, we asked PrettyCity readers to share which one beauty product they couldn’t live without. Turns out glittering lips beat pretty peepers 2 to 1, with 1,871 respondents picking lip gloss and balm over mascara. (Powder, bronzer and concealer couldn’t even compete.)
And, since we like to think of ourselves as Beauty MDs, we’re prescribing glosses that shine and balms that soothe...pick two products and sparkle in the morning :-)
Our A to Z "gloss-ary" of the best lip glosses on the market now.
C is for Lip Balm by CO Bigelow
For those times when lip gloss is out of place – like at the gym— we swear by Mentha Lip Shine from CO Bigelow. This minty lip balm shines like a gloss while keeping lips hydrated and breath fresh; most nights, we even wear it to bed. Get it for $7.50 at Bath and Body Works, here.
F is for Lip Gloss by Fusion Beauty
LipFusion’s Color Shine Sheer Plumping Gloss is a go-to gloss thanks to flattering colors, incredible sheen, and long wear. The company says that a proprietary formula involving marine collagen plumps "immediately” plumps lips. We love the color and the volume; our current faves include “Crave,” a shimmering pink and “Bare,” an of-the-moment nude. Get a hue to suit you for $38 at fusionbeauty.com.
G is for Lip Gloss by Givenchy
You won’t find Givenchy’s Gloss Interdit at drugstores and you probably can’t purchase a Bugatti at CarMax either.
The plumping and smoothing gloss comes in a sparkling selection of colors – we like “Lilac Confession” and “Impertinent Nude.” We can’t bear to wear a gloss that tastes bad and so we’re especially fond of the delicious “flavor” that the folks at Givenchy call a scent, with top notes of bergamot, litchi, and red fruit.
G is for Lip Gloss by Girlactik
Girlactik Beauty’s Star Glosses come in so many shades; you may never wear lipstick again. Long lasting and not-too-sticky shades such as “BurlesqueRed,” “Flirty” and “Orange Twist” keep lips moist and shiny, and these glosses are so sparkly... we are obsessed! Buy the gloss for $18 online at girlactik.com.
