Hello, beautiful!

Ombre Lips

Leaves are falling, and lip trends are changing. A quick change in lipstick is a weatherproof way to update your look and score style points. Here's how to update your look in minutes...

Ombré lips

It seems we're always looking for ways to up the ante when it comes to fashion, which means that as you're perfecting last season's red lips, style dictates you "kiss" it up a notch. Ombré lips may sound intimidating, yet they're actually easy to achieve thanks to new products and easy DIY techniques.

All you need to make this look work for you is two shades of matte lipstick that complement each other, and one coordinating lip liner (the liner should match the darker-hued lipstick), plus a metallic or pearlescent eye shadow. Start by lining the lips and then apply the darker shade of lipstick, avoiding the center of lips as possible. Next, using a lip brush, apply the lighter hue to the center of lips only. Finally, using your fingers, dot the eye shadow on the center of the upper and lower lip to highlight the color gradation at the center of lips.

Too much work? Try CoverGirl's new BlastFlipstick, double-ended lipstick duos with a creamy lipstick shade on one side and a shimmer shade on the other for an easy albeit less dramatic ombré effect; $7.99 at local drugstores.

Fall Trends

Fall style trends range from predictable (think global-inspired) to laughable (think "granny-chic"), but these three trends stand out as wearable and worthwhile.

#1 Wine Leather

Oxblood. Burgundy. Wine. Call it what you like, but make sure you grab something leather (or pleather, if you prefer) for fall. And, feel free to mix your burgundy with more burgundy; monochromatic is the hippest way to sport this hue for fall. June's Leather Motorcycle jacket ($715 at farfetch.com) in burgundy leather is the ideal jacket to pair with a wine pencil skirt.

When Esthetician & Skin Therapist Christen Michel set out to create "The Glow Philosophy," it was with mindfulness about how busy the average woman is. Too busy, for example, to deal with complicated skin care rituals, and too busy, sometimes, to make sure that she makes time for a visit to her trusted esty.

The Glow Philosophy is a customized skin care philosophy that incorporates four must-do steps into every client's day. Step 1: cleanse (removing the make-up, dirt, and oil); step 2: correct (fixing the most bothersome problems; step 3: quench, putting hydration back into the skin and last, but not least, step 4: protect, guarding skin from the sun and free radicals.

Best of all, the product line is free of harsh chemicals, affordable for everyone, and includes help and advice from an Esthetician. Shop the collection including Facial-to-go Kits and Glow Kits, as well as individual products, online plus, for October's Pretty in Pink campaign only, pick up the Protect Yourself, Strawberries & Water Cleanser & SPF Spritz Kit, normally $149, for just $31 here.
