Overdone,
Underdone or Just Right?
Prepping for red carpet events or exclusive celebrity
galas must be tough, because some celebs just
can’t seem to get it right. Whether their makeup
is nearly there, or laid on just a little too thick,
it seems some of our favorite Hollywood gals have bad
hair and makeup days too.
Overdone:
Even for a night out on town for the opening of “The
Pussycat Dolls Lounge” at The Viper Room in West Hollywood,
Hilton’s laying it on a little thick. And while she’ll
always look good, taboo looks and all, we’d love to
see her ditch the bright red lipstick for this particular
makeup ensemble.
Just
Right: Alicia Keys proves that trying a new look
isn’t always a disaster. In an Indian-inspired
dress and accessories and daring light eye shadow, Keys looks
picture perfect at the American Music Awards.
Overdone:
If it’s true that dark lips can add a hinted hue of
sophistication to a look during the winter months, Christina
Aguilera is the exception to the rule. Her dark mauve lipstick
was a miss on the red carpet at the American Music Awards.
While it’s nice to see Christina experimenting with
her stagnant style, let’s hope she puts this makeup
combination into the “been there, done that” pile.
Just
Right: Smoothly coifed and expertly made-up, Hayden
Panettiere attended the launch of her Dooney & Bourke
clutch at The Venetian in Las Vegas.
Underdone:
Understated beauty may be Tina Fey’s signature, but
for a black-tie event at The Museum of Natural History in
New York City, Tina’s look is less polished than posh.
Just
Right: Looking just as a leading lady should, Reese
Witherspoon was stunning at the premiere of her new movie
Four Christmases in Hollywood.
Underdone:
We wish we could say the same for Minnie Driver, who hit the
Four Christmases premiere in minimal makeup.
Just
Right: Attending the premiere of the blockbuster
film Twilight leading lady Kristen Stewart looked
perfectly styled in gray tones and an intentionally-messy
updo.
Underdone:
Model Sasha Pivovarova looked pale and unkempt at the Marie
Claire Prix de la Mode 2008 Awards in Madrid. She’d
benefit from a sleeker hairstyle and foundation to match her
skin.
