Standing on the casino floor of the Aladdin Resort and Casino amidst the clanging, ringing, cheering and moaning for Lady Luck, I felt the need for escape. I retreated to the mezzanine level of the resort to find Elemis Spa.

I stepped through spa entrance to find a bevy of lounges, treatment rooms and resting areas. From floor to ceiling, the space was a canvas of warm browns, reds and mustards. The lighting and décor lent to the space the feel of an earthy, Moroccan sanctuary.

I planned a half-day of pampering, starting with the spa’s signature treatment: the Well-Being Massage. The treatment began with a light, full body brushing. Next, each section of my body was treated with ten unique massage techniques that stimulated my muscles from head to toe. As the massage therapist kneaded my body I succumbed to slumber.

I made sure not to give into slumber until my next treatment: the Sole Delight Foot Treatment with Pedicure, another Elemis specialty. Citrus aromatherapy oils soothed and conditioned my feet and nails before a fragrant lime and ginger exfoliation. The technician placed a lavender-scented pillow over my eyes as my feet soaked in a warm, comforting milk bath. I began to doze off into blissful repose as I received a luxurious foot massage before my feet were wrapped in warm, moist towels.

A hand massage followed along with more warm towels. When I awoke, my nail technician was removing the towels to start the pedicure and manicure – both French, using OPI nail polish.

As I read through the full service menu of heavenly treatments like the Exotic Coconut Rub and Milk Ritual Wrap and the Hawaiian Wave Four Hand Massage, I realized I did not want my day of beauty to end. The staff was thoroughly accommodating to my last minute addition: a much needed bikini wax. The technician was friendly, efficient and thorough.

It was over quickly and the results were definitely pool-worthy.

I emerged three and a half hours later so relaxed, even the bright neon lights of Vegas couldn’t bother me. A full menu of body scrubs and wraps, specialty facials and salon services are available and all products used in the spa are Elemis and La Therapie. For exercise buffs, there is a full fitness facility with one-on-one training, saunas, steam rooms and hot tubs available in both the women’s and men’s sides of the facility.
